Dan Meyer Conference
I recently attended the Dan Meyer Math Conference. There was so much to learn from this man. I would recommend him as a guest speaker any time. He is truly mindful of how students should be learning in our classrooms. I know I will be using what I learned in my classroom for years to come. I will post the link to his blog under my helpful resources page.

Hello Everyone,
This has been a big year for me! I have changed schools and grade levels. I currently teach 7th Grade Mathematics at Bryant Middle School. Previously, I taught 5th Grade Pre-AP Math in El Dorado, Arkansas. This is my third year of teaching and one of the most challenging. I am working hard to teach according to the new Common Core State Standards. I decided to create this blog in hopes of it being a tool of collaboration among middle school math teachers. I want to hear about your experiences while teaching these new standards. Feel free to share lessons and tasks that you have created. I have provided a label for the five divisions in the standards. Also, I am interested to hear some of the motivational strategies you might be using in your classrooms. I find that my students are lacking in perseverance of certain tasks they are asked to complete. Let's get started!
